On Lego Star Wars Battles, one of my responsibilities was to deliver an upgraded emotes feature that included animated versions of the in game characters. It spanned over a long period of time and I was there from the beginning developing the initial look concepts mocked up in After Effects. With many rounds of iteration and refinement we got to what is in the game today, some of the highest visual fidelity emotes in mobile games. It was a team effort, once the visual goal for the emotes had been established my role was to light and render the animations, often adapting light rigs created for the card art. Alongside this I was responsible for creating preview images and setting up the assets to work in Unity.
